Ice fishing competition for team wellbeing days

Who's the best angler in your team? An ice fishing competition is a truly Finnish way to spend a winter day outdoors – and every now and then a cheer rings out across the ice when someone lands the biggest perch of their life.

The instructor is with you throughout the competition. The rules are agreed with you in advance: usually the winner is the person who catches the biggest fish, or whose total catch weighs the most. At the end, the instructor weighs the fish and announces the winner.

During the competition you can warm up by a fire pit brought out onto the ice. If you order snacks, the guide brews the coffee and grills the sausages while you focus on fishing.

Equipment, fire pit and after-party

We provide ice fishing sets for anyone without their own. Each set includes an ice fishing rod, a seat, a slush scoop, ice picks and an ice auger. You're also welcome to bring your own gear. We have 15 augers, so they're shared in larger groups.

You can order a fire pit and snacks on the ice – coffee and sausages to enjoy while warming up during the competition.

Sauna after the competition

In Lappeenranta we fish on Pallonlahti bay. After the competition you can continue the evening in a warm sauna by booking the Pallo sauna venue as an extra, just a short distance away. You can also rent a hot tub outside the sauna and order food. In Kouvola we fish on Käyrälampi, and you can combine the competition with Tykkimäki Resort's sauna and restaurant services – the resort's sales team will put together a package offer: sales.kymenseutu@sok.fi.
